My name is Wendy Fields, your editor and proofreader. The Perfect Word is the culmination of my lifelong devotion to words: reading constantly,
writing daily, talking too much. I have been informally editing material for friends and myself since high school. A page of type and a newly
sharpened pencil send a rush of excitement through my brain.
You can count on me for complete confidentiality. I have been a legal assistant nearly ten years, so I understand your right to privacy, and
my obligation to provide it. My eyes, and my eyes only, will see the projects you submit to me.
On a professional basis, I’ve had tons of experience editing and proofreading. For my “day job” as a legal assistant, I spend
hours each week revising and editing letters, legal documents, and briefs, as well as other outgoing communications. I’ve completed
several college courses in proofreading and editing, as well as in sentence structure and writing. I love sitting down with a piece
of written material that needs editing. Often, I edit already-published material just for fun.
I’m a wife and mother living in Northwest Kansas. I’ve lived in the city and traveled around North America, but at heart I’m a
farm girl who craves open skies and friendly faces. Our family raises wheat and cattle, along with active kids, a lazy dog, and a
sometimes-bountiful garden. I have a B.A. in Modern Languages from Fort Hays State University and I’ve completed a number of
graduate-level credits in education from Wichita State University.
My favorite hobby is writing—I’m reaching the end of my first novel—and I also love reading, reading, reading.
I’m becoming an enthusiastic Facebook user and YouTube addict, too. But my main passion is helping people communicate
more effectively, and to look their best on paper.
I welcome you to contact me for a quote. I’ll be happy to help you!
